Pau D’ Arco (Tabebuia Bignoniaceae) is a tropical tree that grows to a height of one hundred feet in the Amazon rainforest. Medicinal preparations are made from the tree’s dried inner bark, sustainably harvested from trees in the wild. 

-Pau d’arco is an immune stimulant effective against bacterial, fungal, viral, parasitic and yeast infections. It is also considered to be an anti-inflammatory agent. The inner lining of the bark has been used for centuries as a treatment for cancer, lupus, infectious diseases, wounds, and many other health conditions. 

-Pau d’arco stimulates the immune system to produce immune cells that engulf and digests bacteria and yeasts. One of the active compounds in pau d’arco may be as effective against yeast infections as the prescription drug ketoconazole.

Avoid If: Taking Blood thinning medications. Because pau d’arco extract may thin your blood, it should be avoided if you take blood thinners or are scheduled to undergo surgery. Also, it is recommended to avoid use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
